7 Must-Know Cleaning Tips & Tricks

1. Baking Sheet Cleaner

Sprinkle baking soda on a baking sheet and pour vinegar over it. Let everything soak for 5 minutes and then wipe the dirt and grime off easily with a sponge.

2. Glass Cleaner

You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup black tea, cold
  • spray bottle

Here’s How:

Brew a cup of black tea, let it cool, and pour it into a spray bottle. You can use it just like regular glass cleaner – you’ll find that it works at least as well as commercial window cleaner, if not better!

3. Hair Removal

The most effective way to remove hair from a brush is with a fork! Just gently slide the fork through the bristles of the brush and the hair comes right off!

4. Drain Protector

You’ll Need:

  • plastic bottle
  • screw driver
  • lighter

Here’s How:

Cut the bottom off of a plastic bottle, heat the tip of a screwdriver with a lighter, and poke holes in the bottom of the bottle. Put your new DIY drain protector in the sink and you’ll be surprised at how well this simple trick will keep your drain from clogging.

5. Toilet Cleaner

You’ll Need:

  • soap
  • cheese grater
  • Sprite
  • spray bottle

Here’s How:

Grate a bar of soap into small flakes using a cheese grater. Pour Sprite over it and mix it together until it becomes a foamy liquid. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and use it as cleaning solution for your toilet. You’ll be pleasantly surprised  not only by how powerful this toilet cleaner is, but also by its fresh scent!

6. Sink Cleaner

You’ll Need:

  • baking soda
  • lemon
  • olive oil

Here’s How:

Sprinkle baking soda in your sink, squeeze the juice of half a lemon on top, and use the lemon to scrub the sink. Polish the sink off with some olive oil and it will shine just like new!

7. Scratch Remover

You’ll Need:

You can easily remove accidental scratches left on plates or bowls with cream of tartar. Rub the powder on the dish you want to fix with your fingertips and then wipe it off. Any unwanted scratches will be a thing of the past!
