6 natural dyes made from flowers, plants and roots

Roses are beautiful to look at, turmeric is great for your health, and beets and blackberries are delicious. What do you think all these plants have in common? They all produce natural dye! All you have to do is choose the garment of your choice, provide yourself with the necessary ingredients and get to work, let’s get started!

1. Rose tincture

In the workshop :

At work !

1.1 Remove the rose petals and put them in a saucepan. Pour in water and bring everything to a boil for 1 hour.

1.2. Pour the vinegar into a different saucepan and place the item of clothing you want to dye inside before cooking everything for 1 hour.

1.3. Pour the rose tincture in a basin then put the garment inside and leave to act for 1 hour. Your garment will get a beautiful shade of pink! Magnificent !

2. Turmeric tincture

In the workshop :

At work !

Add the turmeric to the water in a saucepan and boil it all for 1 hour. Pour everything into a basin (or other container of your choice) and put your garment to soak in the natural dye for 1 hour. And There you go !

3. Beet tincture

In the workshop :

At work !

Peel the beets and cut them into small pieces before putting them to heat in water in a saucepan for 1 hour. Soak your clothes in the mixture for an additional 1 hour and your dyeing is done!

4. Tincture of red cabbage

In the workshop :

At work !

Cut the red cabbage into small pieces before heating them in water in a saucepan for 1 hour. Soak your clothes in the mixture for an additional 1 hour and your dyeing is done!

5. Tincture of onion skins

In the workshop :

At work !

Put a few onion skins in a container and pour boiling water over them. Let sit for 2 hours then add your garment to the colored water and leave to act for 1 additional hour.

6. Blackberry tincture

In the workshop :

At work !

Mash the blackberries with a fork and put them in a container. Pour boiling water over it and let sit for 1 hour. Pour the tinted water into another container then add your garment inside and leave to act for 1 hour.
