3 great tips for IKEA coffee tables

Everyone knows him and everyone likes him (or not): the Swedish furniture giant. But at IKEA, you will find more than just stylish furniture at affordable prices, because the great thing about IKEA furniture is that there are plenty of DIY ideas to “pimp” it on. 1. BD table

  • Old comics or pages printed from the Internet
  • White glue
  • Wooden slats
  • Glass top

1.1 If you still have old comics at home, they will be perfect for this craft. You can also search the internet for comic book pages and print them. Cut them according to your wishes and glue them on the table with white glue.

1.2 Glue 4 slats all around the edge of the table and place a glass plate in the middle. It’s over !

2. Plush table

In the workshop :

  • IKEA table “Självständig”
  • Thick wool in different colors
  • Tape

At work !

Pass wool of different colors through the different holes in the table and tie them at the bottom. Wrap the ends with duct tape to make it easier to thread the wool through the holes. It is up to you to choose the pattern you will draw with the wool.

3. Marbled coffee table

In the workshop :

  • IKEA “Vittsjö” coffee table
  • Spray paint
  • Felt pads
  • Marbled paper

At work !

3.1 Carefully remove the glass top, turn the table over, place it on newspaper or the like and spray the frame with paint.

3.2 Glue felt glides on the legs and place the glass top on them.

3.3 Now carefully paste the marbled paper onto the glass plate. Smooth everything so that no bubbles remain.

3.4 Cut off the protruding edges with a scalpel or a sharp knife.

3.5 Remove the glass plate, turn the table over and replace the glass plate in its place on it.
